Lyon, a city in France’s historical Rhône-Alpes region, sits at the junction of the Rhône and Saône rivers. Its center reflects 2,000 years of history, with the Roman Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules, medieval and Renaissance architecture in Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon), and the modern Confluence district on the Presqu’île peninsula. Traboules, covered passageways between buildings, connect Vieux Lyon and La Croix-Rousse hill.
Enjoy the sights from the vantage point of this tour, get on and off as many times as you want to explore sights nearby at your leisure. See the Basilica of Notre Dame de Fourvière, with its incredible views in all directions over Lyon. Stop at the Place Bellecour to admire the statue of Louis XIV — the famous ‘Sun King’ of France — that has stood in the square since the 1820s. After breakfast your journey towards Annecy, is an alpine town in southeastern France, where Lake Annecy feeds into the Thiou River. It’s known for its Vieille Ville (old town), with cobbled streets, winding canals and pastel-colored houses.
Overlooking the city, the medieval Château d’Annecy, once home to the Counts of Geneva, contains a museum with regional artifacts such as Alpine furniture and religious art, plus a natural history exhibit.

DAY 4

Annecy tour exploring the Old Town and its charming collection of monuments. The pure, clear water flows from the lake into the canals running through the “old town” (Annecy’s historic centre), giving it its picturesque appearance of the “Venice of the Alps”. Capture photographs beside the renowned Palais de l’Isle, a 12th-century island fortress, and absorb sweeping city vistas from its vertiginous vantage point. After breakfast your journey towards Saint-Tropez, is a coastal town on the French Riviera, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France. Long popular with artists, the town attracted the international “jet set” in the 1960s, and remains known for its beaches and nightlife. St Tropez began life as a military stronghold and humble fishing village but it was inevitable that with such natural beauty and a location between Marseille, Provence and the Cote d’Azur, it would become a seaside resort. Finally the rest of us arrived to see both the beauty of nature and the beautiful people. The Plage de Pampelonne is a dream stretch of golden sands and clear, blue waters and is lined with glamorous bars and restaurants. For shopping, check out the exclusive boutiques and knick-knack shops, then find some more affordable offerings at the Place des Lices market. At night everyone heads to the famous Les Caves du Roy nightclub – paparazzi included – in the desirable Hotel Byblos, one of the ritziest hotels in the world.
The atmospheric Vieux Port is the heart of Saint-Tropez, where the old fishing village first sprung to life. The Old Town of Saint-Tropez, known as “La Ponche” borders the Vieux Port harbor basin and is below the citadel. La Ponche is the historic center of the fishing village and is the most picturesque area of Saint Tropez. Even though Saint-Tropez is most famous as a jet-setting beach resort, the village also has important cultural sites. One of the top tourist attractions in Saint-Tropez is its art museum, which occupies the former Chapelle Notre-Dame de l’Annonciade (Chapel of the Annunciation). Although famous for its private beach clubs along the Pampelonne, several public beaches are free (except for fees to rent lounge chairs and beach umbrellas). The Plage de Bouillabaisse is a large sandy beach right outside the village’s port.

Admire the beautiful Belle Epoque architecture with a walk along the grand Promenade des Anglais. Make the ascent to Castle Hill in order to get an even better view of the surrounding area, not to mention a chance to see the lush gardens and waterfalls on the hill. Your next visit is the atmospheric neighborhood of Cimiez, where Queen Victoria used to spend her winters. Today, this area hosts the Nice Jazz Festival every summer and is home to a few notable art museums. Drive along the Promenade des Arts to see the Acropolis Center, Sosno’s library and the Modern Art Museum. Admire the colorful Russian Orthodox Cathedral’s frescoes and carvings. Visit the Old Town (Vieux Nice) of Nice with a stop in the famous public square.
